Weird Night Tour 2013 Wraps Up!

We have arrived back from our April tour and wanted to write and say thanks to all who came out to the shows.  Dubbed the “Weird Night Tour” we ventured into VA, TN, NC, SC, PA, & CT.  One of the biggest highlights was playing a 4/20 festival in Chattanooga, TN with the legendary Col. Bruce Hampton! He’s played with some of our all time favorites including Jimmy Herring and the Burbridge brothers. We met a lot of great new friends down south we are excited to get back down there soon.  We were once again joined by Andrew Walley on electric bass for the NC & SC shows.

All shows were recorded and will be posted on Archive.org soon.  Special thanks to V at the Outer Banks Brewing station in Kill Devil Hills, NC for recording our show for us from the sound board.  We’ll put up that one soon right here on skyfootmusic.com

We are excited to announce a ton of summer shows in the coming weeks!

Matt & Walley 2013

First East Coast Tour Wraps Up

Success!  We made it back from our first East Coast tour in one piece.  We took our longtime bass cohort Andrew Walley along for 10 shows from Massachusetts to Georgia.  Highlights include Hampton, VA where we encountered a fantastic crowd on a snowy night in southern Virginia (!!!!) and rode the great energy late into the night with 4 sets!  Athens, GA was all it was hyped up to be and we were so happy to meet some of the country’s best music fans all in one little town.  Speaking of small southern towns that we like…Asheville, NC is our #1.  After sharing the stage at the One Stop with fellow Northeast jammers Timbre Coup, we graduated up stairs to the Asheville Music Hall for the weekly town jam session.  Hosted by Derek Johnson from Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band, this night truly raged!  Skyfoot played two Zappa songs with local legend and Project Object guitarist Andre Cholmondeley.  We would do it all again for sure.

Keep tuned in for April tour dates!  tourr

Jay Rice Leaves The Band
